A friend of mine got an albino rosy and isn't sure which strain, so I took these to help her tell the difference, lol.

New Acquisitions
I got two new rosys from Ryan Hoyer the other day.
First off is a yearling male Bay of LA, to pair off with my 2008 female.
Ryan has bred out some crazy coloring in his Bay of LA's, and I've wanted to get one for awhile now.
Second is a yearling female San Matias. This is my first San Matias.
They are smaller yearlings, but sweet little boas. I really like Ryan's setup, and his animals. He takes great care of his stuff.

Cooling down time
Well, the winter cool down starts today.
I have 6 females and 3 males that will be hibernating in preparation for breeding. Should be an interesting mix if things produce next year.
The main 2 males are whitewater albinos that are both 100% het for anery, and a normal whitewater male as a backup in the unlikely case that one of my main males doesn't make it through hibernation.
The females and litters:
Female #1- is a big WW albino. She would produce:
100% albinos that are 50% possibility of being het for anery.
Female #2- is a big Het for WW albino. She would produce:
50% albinos that are 50% possibility het for anery.
50% normals that are 100% poss het for albino and 50% poss het for anery.
Females #3 and #4- are 66% possibility het for WW albino. If they prove to be het, they will produce the same as Female #2. If not, the babies will be:
all 100% het for albino, and 50% het for anery.
-the presence of any visible albinism in a baby would prove its mother to be 100% het.
Females #5 and #6- are het for BOTH WW albino and anery. They would each produce:
12.5% snow (albino and anery together),
12.5% anery that are 100% het albino,
37.5% albino that are 66% poss of being het anery
37.5% normal that are 100% het albino and 66% poss het anery
Good night rosys. Dream of warm plentiful rodents and huge healthy litters.

More new rosys!
So here's the story....
I got two female double hets (het for both albino and anery) from makoman, and another adult albino het snow male.
Here are the girls:
And here's the male:
And a little Bahia de LA female as a bonus!
The females are 2007 babies, but he has obviously pumped them like crazy because they are both over 24 inches and very healthy.
I was planning to wait until 2010.. but if I breed then I could produce snows and/or anerys next year, so I've decided that I am going to go for it.
That means that next year I will be attempting to produce 7 litters.
Wow. That'll be crazy.

Wasatch reptile expo
I hit the wasatch reptile expo this last weekend, and picked up an adult female desert rosy.
She's not locality specific, but reminded me of the ones I've seen from trona (although she really looks more like a San Matias, or Bahia de LA), so I picked her up.
I have a couple males that wouldn't mind making some non-locality frankenrosys next year. :)

Marianna and Julianna
I went and picked up the two females from Jason north of Denver.
They are 06 females that are 66% het for albino.
I realize that I know have four breedable females for next year, but only one albino male. I could use one of my other males, but I'd really like to produce as many albinos as possible.
So I decided that I should probably get another breedable male before the spring.
Meanwhile, Makoman (total stud) out in California is sending me a couple 07 females that are DH snow (het whitewater albino, and het borrego anery). Long story short, he's gonna sell me another male (albino and 100% het anery) and send it at the same time.
So, year after next when those double hets are breedable, I will have two males to breed across six females.
males
2.0 albino 100% het snow
females
0.1 albino
0.1 100% het for albino
0.2 66% het for albino (I hope to prove them in 09)
0.2 100% het albino, 100% het anery

Getting 2 more females
I can't stop getting rosys. Serious addiction.
I'm getting 2 more females this weekend. They're 66% possibility of het for WW albino. I'll see if I can prove them out next year.
They're from Jason Miloradovich out in Colorado. He breeds Carlson line snows, among others.
I'll get some good pictures up when I get them home, but for now here's the pic that he posted of them online...
Cheers!

My female Rosys
So, here are the females. I will start with little Chance.
Chance is a neonate albino White Water rosy that I got a few weeks ago. She still had the umbilical cord attached when she arrived. I am not 100%, but I'm pretty sure its a female.
She has eaten really well for me, even though she was getting ready to shed. Right now she's shedding, but you can kind of see from the second picture what she looks like.
Next is Princess Leia. She is an albino White Water rosy. I have high hopes for her for next year. Coupled with Han-Solo, we should have a litter of albinos that are also 50% het for snow.
Then there is Queen Ester. She is a large adult White Water, and she's 100% het for albino. If all goes well her litter will be half albinos with a 50% chance of het for snow, and the other half 100% hets, with a 50% chance of being double het for snow.

My Males
These are my male Rosys.
These first two pics are of my primary male, Han-Solo. He's a White Water albino and is 100% het for snow (Borrego anery)
Next are my other two males.
Both are White Water, and both are proven breeders.
This first one is bartholomew. I really like his colors.
And this one my wife has been calling "Meanie", since he bit her a few weeks ago.
His coloring isn't as bright as bartholomew's, but he's seriously a BEAST. Last time I measured he was 39 inches long!
